Henderson County abounds with opportunities for people looking for a place to visit, live or operate a business. Located in the heart of the corn belt, this Mississippi River County has a quality of life second to none. The county has a relatively small population with only one stop light. There are several small towns and villages that host a variety of businesses that serve the needs of residents and tourists.
Corn, soybeans, and livestock farms dominate the more productive soils. Surplus production is shipped by barge from the nations largest privately owned grain terminal which is visited by people from around the world. The small cemetaries and museums are popular for people digging into the counties history. Visitors can stay in a historic hotel and visit several sites on the national register. The three day heritage celebration is but one of many special events. Cabins and campgrounds are near hunting, fishing, and boating locations.
