The Henderson County Health Department (HCHD) was formed by resolution in 1978. The Board of Health members are appointed by the County Board and receive no compensation for their time. The Board of Health members play a vital role in the HCHD team:
- Advocate for the resident’s public health needs in each township in the county
- Appoint the Medical Director and the Administrator
- Approve claims, budgets, and policies
- Set compensation and benefits for employees
But most importantly, they promote public health and safety for every resident of Henderson County.
